Members and users

Magic TD keeps track of both members and users. Those are not necessarily the same thing.
Members come from partner federations. Members have member numbers (=MID in Magic TD), as well as email addresses, if available.
Users are identified by a unique email address. The top right Log in button allows you to log in, or sign up as a new user.
Upon logging or signing up, member and user email addresses are compared, regardless of federations. A connection is made if they are the same. This allows users to sign up for new events and easily view their own results in played events.
Another use of this connection comes with reports to the federation, which enables calculating master points, rating and handicap. Users without connections cannot be identified by the federation.

This email-to-mid connection allows you to use just one Magic TD login, and later select the active federation. Maybe you usually play in Sweden, but on summer holidays close to the North pole, choose to use your Norwegian membership at the local club.
A user without email-to-mid connections cannot play in events. If so, you need a temporary membership, which can be issued by the event admin.
If the automatic email-to-mid connection fails, please contact your federation admin, who can create the connection manually. One reason could of course be that you use different email addresses in Magic TD and your federation database.
To round off, you do not have to be a member of any federation to work as a tournament director in Magic TD. Sign up as a new user with an email address not used in any federation. User rights, assigned by an admin, will now allow you to work in events.
